“Certainly it's worth waiting for – the Gunton Arms is there to feed you. It's the kind of place where, having eaten, you crave a lie-down…… I want to go back to the Gunton Arms. I want to go back soon” – Jay Rayner , The Guardian

We are delighted to announce The James Hunter Six will headline the 2nd Gunton Festival of Food & Music ‪on Saturday 4 August. East Anglian born and Grammy nominated Hunter, has been hailed by Mojo magazine as “The UK’s greatest soul singer”. His latest album “Whatever It Takes” has just been released by Daptone Records (Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings,Charles Bradley, Lee Fields) and produced by Gabe Roth (Amy Winehouse andSharon Jones & The Dap Kings) and has been critically acclaimed as a career highlight.

King Salami & The Cumberland 3 are the UK’s premier party band bar none! The London based quartet have recently made a big impact in East Anglia blowing the roof off The Bo Nanafana Xmas party in December and Red Rooster Festival main stage in June with their non stop high energy punk infused RnB.  King Salami came to national attention as the stars of  BBC4 TV programme  UK’s Best Part-Time Band where they were championed by Soul 2 Soul’s Jazzy B reaching the competition final

We’re super excited to welcome DJ Scratchy to The Gunton Festival as the headlining DJ. Scratchy kicked off his amazing career as The Clash tour DJ and has since travelled around the world countless times headlining his own shows and playing with bands as diverse as ‪The Cramps, Blondie, Gogol Bordello and The Urban Voodoo Machine. To celebrate his influence Trojan Records released Scratchy Sounds: Ska, Dub, Roots & Reggae Nuggets.

Errol Linton has been described as "Sonny Boy Williamson meets King Tubby" uniquely mixing Mississippi blues harmonica with the reggae and dub flavours of Jamaica. Errol is a Brixton born and bred legend and thanks to the critical acclaim and BBC radio airplay of his great new album,  “Packing My Bags, ” a much bigger audience is about to discover the delights of Errol’s rock steady blues.

Maverick one man band ‪Thomas Truax from New York plays eccentric , otherworldly sounds on homemade instruments such as “The Hornicator ” and “Mother Superior”. The Tuppenny Bunters are a husband and wife duo from Southend On Sea who play “psychedelic music hall” that caught the ear of Jack White who subsequently invited them to tour with The White Stripes . Gladboy are the young rising stars of the new Norwich music scene and make their festival debut at The Gunton.

Following the success of last years festival launch, which sold out three months in advance the capacity, has been doubled from 650 to 1300. The North Norfolk Festival is a glorious celebration of The Gunton Arms holy trinity – Food, music and drink.

The acclaimed Gunton restaurant will be open throughout the festival plus an outdoor BBQ serving delicious jerk chicken, spiced lamb pittas, vegetarian dishes and of course the classic Gunton venison burgers and hotdogs. There will be an  expanded food area in 2018 featuring vendors hand picked by head chef Stuart Tattersall.

Described by The Independent as a “Rock & Roll Hunting Lodge” The Gunton Arms is located in the beautiful thousand acre deer park which surrounds Gunton Hall near Cromer in North Norfolk. Stuart Tattersall (Former Head Chef at Mark Hix) cooks from local ingredients including venison from the deer park.
