HATTIE BRIGGS

Fender Guitars Undiscovered Artist of the Year 2017/2018

Hattie Briggs is a 24 year-old singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist.

Named **Fender Undiscovered Artist of the Year 2017/2018** in November 2017, Hattie won the prize of supporting Lucy Rose at the prestigious O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire.

Since making the decision to drop out of a Russian degree in her second year at Oxford University after being shortlisted for a BBC Radio 2 Young Musician award, she has released several EPs, two albums, had airplay on BBC Radios 1, 2, and 6 Music, and embarked on tours around the UK, the Netherlands and the U.S.

During her travels she has performed at over 400 gigs, house concerts and numerous festivals (both local and nationally renowned) and supported well known bands and artists, including Lucy Rose at O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire, Ward Thomas at O2 London Brooklyn Bowl, John Smith, Blue Rose Code, Lauren Aquilina, Stornoway, Seth Lakeman and Grant Nicholas (Feeder).

Inspired by Foy Vance, James Taylor, The Weepies, Regina Spektor, Joni Mitchell, Jeff Buckley, Joan As Policewoman and Goldfrapp, Hattie writes and sings from the heart.  Her crystalline vocals, and insightful lyrics resonate across all ages, rekindling old memories and capturing imaginations.

A series of five singles will be released through 2018, the first of which, 'Early Girl', dropped on February 23rd, the second 'Say Goodbye' will appear on April 27th. Four mini-tours are organised for 2018 to support the releases.

Supporting Hattie will be local singer/multi-instrumentalist Noel Dashwood who will be known to many of you as the dobro-playing one-third  of folk " supergroup "  Alden, Patterson and Dashwood. This will be a special solo set in which Noel will deliver songs and dobro instrumentals in his own trademark laid-back and charming style.

As usual at The Guildhall, there will be pre-show food available from 7pm until 8pm ( approx) If you wish to reserve a table ( subject to availability ) please email grapevinesteve@gmail.com and we'll respond immediately.

There will be a bar and tempting cakes available throughout the evening.
